IT Minister Emphasizes Technology’s Role in Pakistan’s Development

Islamabad, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted the critical role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in driving Pakistan’s development. She emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and digital services across the nation during a meeting with CEO Zong, Mr. Huo Junli.

According to Press Information Department, the discussion focused on key areas such as digitalization, connectivity, the upcoming Spectrum auction, and the rollout of 5G technology. Minister Khawaja stressed the importance of resolving telecommunication issues and utilizing advanced technology to improve the quality of digital services, which she believes are crucial for the country’s uplift.

The CEO of Zong echoed this sentiment, noting that a strong collaboration between the Ministry of IT and the telecom industry could set Pakistan on a path to a better digital future. The meeting was also attended by Member Telecom Muhammad Jahanzeb Rahim.
