Jammu Parties Call for Public Action to Restore Political Rights in IIOJK

Jammu, In a unified appeal, several political organizations in Jammu, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, have urged the local populace to take to the streets to demand the restoration of their political rights, which they claim have been eroded under current governmental policies.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Jammu Democratic Alliance, Jammu Justice Party, Dogra Peoples Front, and Intellectual Sikh Forum have all issued separate statements calling for active public participation. These groups assert that the BJP-led Indian Government has not shown genuine intent to restore full Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, a point of contention since significant administrative changes were implemented. Notably, in 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir cadre of civil services was abolished, and recently, the budget for the Jammu and Kashmir Police was segregated from the state’s annual budget and placed under the purview of the Indian Home Ministry.
