Ankara: The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara commemorated Kashmir Solidarity Day, emphasizing support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination. According to a statement by Press Information Department, former Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdag reiterated Turkiye’s commitment to the Kashmiri cause, urging the international community to address human rights issues in the region. Other prominent figures, such as former Minister Mehmet Mehdi Eker and Member of Parliament Burhan Kayaturk, echoed these sentiments, underlining the importance of resolving the Kashmir conflict for South Asian stability.
The gathering also featured remarks from Zehra Zumrut, who advocated for a solution within the framework of United Nations resolutions. Vice Mayor Faruk Koyluoglu highlighted the longstanding solidarity between the Turkish and Pakistani people, while Gen. Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid concluded the event by urging global leaders to take decisive action against human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
