Pakistan Observes Kashmir Solidarity Day with Public Holiday and Rallies

Islamabad: Kashmir Solidarity Day was marked with fervor across Pakistan today as citizens observed a public holiday to demonstrate support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination under United Nations resolutions. The day was highlighted by rallies, public gatherings, and displays of solidarity throughout the country.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a prominent rally took place in Islamabad, starting from the Foreign Office and culminating at D-Chowk. Participants of the rally carried banners and chanted slogans in support of Kashmiris, condemning Indian actions in the region.

At the rally, Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to Kashmiris. Minister for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik also addressed the gathering, condemning human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to advocating for Kashmiri freedom.

Chairman Kashmir Committee Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon emphasized the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions. Meanwhile, Deputy Convener APHC AJK Chapter Farooq Rehmani expressed gratitude towards Pakistani leadership and its people for their unwavering support.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, organized another rally in Islamabad. Addressing the participants, she criticized the international community for not holding India accountable for alleged war crimes in the region, while underscoring Pakistan’s role as a steadfast ally of the Kashmiri people.

In addition to rallies, Pakistan showcased solidarity through posters and billboards in strategic locations, highlighting the plight of Kashmiris. Human chains were formed at key points like Mangla and Kohala, symbolically linking Pakistan with Azad Kashmir.

The city of Muzaffarabad hosted a special session of the AJK Legislative Assembly to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir. Similar events were held in districts including Kotli and Bhimber, with a significant function planned at Mangla Bridge in Mirpur.

Kashmir Solidarity Day remains an important event in Pakistan, reflecting the nation’s ongoing commitment to the Kashmiri cause.
