Islamabad, June 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah has emphasized the need for early completion of under-construction dams to cope with the challenges of climate change and ever-increasing water needs. He was chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad to review the pace of development work on Diamer Bhasha, Mohmand and Dasu Dams.
The Minister said we need to work on all the dams simultaneously on fast track to meet the energy and irrigation needs of the country. The minister directed the DG National Highway Authority to ensure the construction of the roads in dams’ areas at the earliest. He also gave instructions for provision of the best health and education and other possible facilities to the people and communities associated with the dams.
