Lahore Police and Administration Crack Down on Illegal Profiteering During Ramadan

Lahore, In an extensive crackdown aimed at curbing illegal profiteering during the holy month of Ramadan, the Lahore Police, under directives from the Chief Minister of Punjab, and the district administration have successfully registered 255 cases against violators. A total of 865 individuals have been apprehended for exploiting consumers by inflating prices illegally during this period of increased demand.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the operation has been widespread across various divisions within Lahore, leading to a significant number of arrests. Specifically, 129 suspects were detained in City Division, 224 in Cantt Division, 107 in Civil Lines Division, 88 in Sadar Division, 78 in Iqbal Town Division, and 239 in Model Town Division.

This concerted effort by law enforcement and the district administration underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring fairness and preventing exploitation of consumers during Ramadan, a time when the spirit of giving and community is paramount.
