Minister Ahsan Iqbal Courts Chinese Entrepreneurs for CPEC’s Next Phase

Islamabad, In a strategic move to deepen economic ties, Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has extended an invitation to Chinese entrepreneurs to enhance their involvement in Pakistan’s development, particularly in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a visit to Chengdu city in China’s Sichuan province, Minister Iqbal encouraged Chinese businessmen to establish technology parks in Pakistan. This initiative is aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s tech infrastructure and providing a boost to its digital economy as part of the broader CPEC projects.

The Chinese entrepreneurs discussed potential enhancements to their operational capabilities within Pakistan, suggesting ways the Pakistani government could further support their ventures. This interaction underscores a significant effort by Pakistan to attract foreign investment and expertise in key development areas, reflecting the ongoing commitment to the CPEC initiative and broader bilateral relations with China.
