Ministry of Health Allocates Four Billion Rupees for Upgrades at Polyclinic Hospital, Islamabad

Islamabad: In an ambitious push to enhance healthcare services, the Ministry of Health has sanctioned a significant funding of four billion rupees for the upgradation of Polyclinic Hospital. The initiative includes the installation of a state-of-the-art cath lab and the transition of several facilities to solar power.

According to Press Information Department, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, announced the approval of a PC-1 project aimed at upgrading the existing facilities and equipment at Polyclinic Hospital. The project’s centerpiece is a new cath lab that will offer advanced cardiac care services such as ablation, angiogram, angioplasty, and stenting. This enhancement is expected to significantly improve the quality of care for heart patients.

The initiative also includes upgrading the hospital’s main building and associated facilities like the MCH Aabpara and G-7/3, G-7/4 dispensaries, and hostel, to operate on solar power. This shift aims at reducing energy costs and the financial burden on the government’s treasury, promoting sustainable energy use in public healthcare facilities.

Dr. Ahmed emphasized the government’s commitment to not only modernizing medical facilities but also ensuring that they operate efficiently and sustainably. He reaffirmed the broader strategy to improve the infrastructure of hospitals nationwide, ensuring high-quality medical care is accessible to all.
