New Passport Facility Opens at Shakargarh NADRA Centre, Promises Enhanced Services for Residents

Islamabad, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, officially opened a new Passport Processing Counter at the Shakargarh NADRA Centre in Punjab, bringing crucial services closer to the local population.

According to Press Information Department, the new facility aims to simplify identity-related processes for over half a million local residents, fulfilling a long-standing demand in the area. Minister Iqbal highlighted the importance of accessible public services as a core aspect of the government’s agenda. He urged the Passport Authority and NADRA to ensure smooth operations and excellent service to the public. The establishment of the passport facility, which is particularly significant for the many residents of Shakargarh who work or study abroad, was met with public appreciation as large crowds gathered to celebrate the realization of this promise made by Minister Iqbal within 60 days of the elections.

Minister Iqbal also noted that the recent governmental efforts under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have started to revive confidence in Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape. He mentioned that the country’s international isolation is diminishing, as evidenced by growing foreign interest, including significant potential investments from Saudi Arabia and others, heralding a promising future for Pakistan.
