Pak-Azerbaijan Joint Commission Session Kicks Off in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The 8th Session of the Pak-Azerbaijan Joint Commission began in Islamabad, marking a renewed commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two nations. Representatives from both sides gathered for a two-day event aimed at advancing collaboration in numerous sectors of mutual interest.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the inaugural session featured technical-level discussions across key areas, including energy, transport, trade, and economic cooperation. The talks also covered defense industry, ICT and digital governance, banking, agriculture and food security, tourism, sports, youth, culture, education and science, health, hydrometeorology, climate change, and public service delivery and social innovations.

The discussions highlighted mutual areas of cooperation, with significant progress reported in the finalization of bilateral protocols. The comprehensive dialogue underscored the importance of continued partnership in addressing shared challenges and opportunities.

Additional Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ms. Sabina Qureshi, highlighted the joint commission’s role in strengthening ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. The session is expected to conclude with agreements that further cement the bilateral relationship and promote shared growth and development.
