Pakistan Adjusts Fuel Prices Amid Rising Global Oil Costs

Islamabad, Pakistan has updated its petroleum product prices in response to the recent uptrend in the international oil market. The new rates, effective from April 16, 2024, reflect an increase in the cost of both Motor Spirit (petrol) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD).

According to Press Information Department, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recalculated consumer prices based on the latest international market trends. From April 16, the price of Motor Spirit will rise from Rs. 289.41 to Rs. 293.94 per liter, an increase of Rs. 4.53. High-Speed Diesel will see a more substantial rise, from Rs. 282.24 to Rs. 290.38 per liter, marking an increase of Rs. 8.14.

This adjustment comes as part of OGRA’s routine monitoring and modification of fuel prices to align domestic rates with global oil price fluctuations. The price revision aims to manage the economic impact of these changes on Pakistani consumers while ensuring the sustainability of fuel supply across the country.
