Pakistan Aims to Enhance Trade with Russia Through Central Asian Corridor

Islamabad: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan expressed Pakistan’s interest in establishing a trade route connecting Russia through Central Asian countries to boost bilateral trade. This was discussed during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert P. Khorev, focusing on potential road connectivity projects that could significantly enhance trade and cargo exchanges between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, discussions included the strategic importance of road networks linking China, Pakistan, and Central Asian countries. Ambassador Khorev emphasized Russia’s commitment to strengthening economic relations with Pakistan, expressing readiness to support various projects financially and technically. He highlighted the prospective establishment of a road connectivity corridor to Pakistan through Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan, aiming to create a new trade pathway.
