Pakistan and Bahrain Aim for Stronger Economic Ties, Says President Zardari

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the importance of elevating the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Bahrain into a dynamic economic partnership. This discussion took place during a meeting with General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Commander of the National Guard of Bahrain, who visited the President in Islamabad.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari highlighted the deep-rooted connections between the two nations, founded on shared religion, culture, and history. He expressed a keen interest in further strengthening these bonds, with a particular focus on developing economic cooperation that would be beneficial for both countries. The President also shared his optimistic outlook on Pakistan’s future, pointing to the country’s significant potential for prosperity.

The Commander of the Bahraini National Guard congratulated President Zardari on his re-election and voiced hope for Pakistan’s continued progress under his leadership. He reaffirmed Bahrain’s ongoing support for Pakistan and expressed gratitude towards the Pakistani Armed Forces for their supportive role, underscoring the excellent defense cooperation existing between Pakistan and Bahrain.

Furthermore, General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa extended an invitation to President Zardari to visit Bahrain, signaling a desire to further diplomatic and economic exchanges between the two countries.
