Pakistan and Brazil Discuss Maritime Security and Defense Cooperation in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: Admiral Andre Luiz Silva Lima De Santana Mendes, Chief of Staff of the Brazilian Navy, met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The high-level meeting focused on strengthening security and defense relations between Pakistan and Brazil, with particular emphasis on maritime security and adapting to the emerging security environment.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in various defense and security areas were productive. Both leaders explored avenues to fortify their military engagements and shared insights on the evolving global security landscape. The Brazilian Admiral praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their significant contributions and sacrifices in the global war against terrorism.

The visit commenced with a ceremonial guard of honor presented by a tri-services contingent, signifying the importance of the meeting and the strong military ties between the two nations.
