Pakistan and China Deepen Economic Ties with Focus on Joint Ventures

Islamabad: A pivotal meeting between Pakistan’s Board of Investment and the Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Jiang Zaidong, underscored a significant move toward bolstering economic cooperation between the two nations. The session, conducted at the Board of Investment in Islamabad, involved discussions aimed at enhancing joint ventures and economic ties, as directed by the Prime Minister.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting, co-chaired by Ministers Abdul Aleem Khan and Jam Kamal Khan, explored potential collaborations between 163 Chinese and 78 Pakistani companies across various sectors, including leather, textiles, agriculture, and medical industries. The discussions highlighted the mutual benefits of such partnerships, emphasizing the strategic relocation of Chinese companies to Pakistan and the associated advantages like reduced duties and import synergies.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong expressed his commitment to promote these joint ventures, noting the comparative advantages that Pakistani companies offer. He also proposed organizing a roadshow in China to foster better understanding and cooperation between the enterprises of both countries. The ministers reaffirmed their dedication to facilitating these economic partnerships, addressing visa processes and security concerns to ensure the success of the joint ventures.
