Islamabad, In a significant move towards bolstering their strategic partnership, Pakistan and China have committed to enhancing collaboration across a broad spectrum of sectors, including industrial zones, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy. This agreement was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Aurangzeb underscored the critical support provided by China through the roll-over of SAFE deposits and the refinancing of commercial loans, highlighting their substantial impact on Pakistan’s economic stability. He also stressed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) vital role in Pakistan’s growth strategy and its significance in the nation’s overall economic resurgence.
The discussions pointed towards the next phase of CPEC, with an emphasis on capitalizing on the achievements of the initial phase to generate monetary benefits. Ambassador Jiang Zaidong congratulated Minister Aurangzeb on his new role and expressed optimism about the future of Sino-Pak economic relations, reflecting the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation that define the bilateral ties between the two countries.
