Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has highlighted potential cooperation between Pakistan and Denmark in agriculture and sustainable energy projects during discussions with a high-level Danish delegation led by Keith Svendsen, CEO of APM Terminals.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting focused on enhancing business and investment ties, with a particular emphasis on environmental sustainability and modernizing agricultural practices. Svendsen expressed confidence in Pakistan’s investment climate, particularly noting the country’s efforts to develop environmentally friendly infrastructure.
Key topics included Denmark’s interest in establishing Pakistan’s first green transshipment terminal in Karachi, which is expected to significantly boost the country’s export capabilities by allowing large cargo ships to anchor directly at the port. This initiative is seen as a critical step towards integrating Pakistani markets more closely with global trade networks.
Additionally, Svendsen detailed plans for constructing state-of-the-art logistics storage facilities in Lahore, Tarnol, and Peshawar, aiming to enhance the logistics and supply chain infrastructure across key Pakistani cities.
The engagement between Pakistani and Danish officials underscores a shared commitment to fostering economic growth through sustainable and innovative solutions, aligning with global environmental goals while addressing local economic needs.
