Pakistan and Deutsche Bank Discuss Opportunities for Green Bond Issuance

Washington DC, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, recently met with representatives from Deutsche Bank to explore enhancing Pakistan’s access to international capital markets through innovative financing, including the potential issuance of a green or sustainability bond.

According to Press Information Department, the discussions between Minister Aurangzeb and Deutsche Bank focused on establishing a Sustainable Finance Framework to support the issuance of green bonds, aiming to fund environmentally sustainable initiatives within Pakistan. The Bank’s representatives outlined various transaction structures that could enable Pakistan to broaden its financial base in global markets. Minister Aurangzeb expressed his appreciation for Deutsche Bank’s ongoing support and collaboration with the Pakistani government in past financial endeavors.
