Pakistan and Maldives Discuss Climate Challenges and Loss and Damage Fund at Washington Meeting

Washington DC, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with H.E. Mohamed Nasheed, former President of the Maldives and Secretary-General of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF), to discuss mutual concerns regarding climate change and collaborative strategies.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting highlighted Pakistan’s vulnerability to climate change and the proactive role it played in establishing the Loss and Damage Fund during COP 28. Discussions focused on advancing the global response to climate challenges, particularly in countries most vulnerable to climate impacts. The dialogue underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing the pervasive threats posed by climate change and explored the path forward to mitigate these risks effectively.
