Pakistan and Russia Enhance Bilateral Ties with Focus on Trade and Energy

Astana: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Russian President Vladimir Putin met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of States meeting to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on trade, energy, and regional and global issues.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting underscored the importance of the growing relationship between Pakistan and Russia, marked by mutual trust and understanding. Both leaders committed to expanding their multifaceted cooperation, including sectors such as trade, energy, defense, and security. They also planned for the next Pakistan-Russia intergovernmental cooperation meeting in Moscow and discussed potential visits by high-level officials, including an invitation to President Putin to visit Pakistan.
