Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Commit to Strengthening Ties and Addressing Regional Challenges

Islamabad, The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, met with H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at Al-Safa Palace. This high-level meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen bilateral relations and collaborative efforts in various sectors.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Crown Prince congratulated Prime Minister Sharif on his new role and discussed the importance of the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both leaders emphasized the need to enhance trade and investment links, specifically through a $5 billion investment package aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s economy.

The discussions also touched on significant regional and international issues, including the situation in Gaza. The leaders called for international intervention to stop Israeli military actions and advocated for a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian conflict, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, the importance of dialogue between Pakistan and India was highlighted, particularly in addressing the Jammu and Kashmir dispute to maintain regional peace and stability. The Crown Prince accepted an invitation from Prime Minister Sharif to visit Pakistan, fostering further cooperation between the two countries.
