Pakistan and Turkey Set Ambitious $5 Billion Trade Target

Islamabad, In a strategic move to deepen bilateral ties, Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to significantly increase their trade volume to five billion dollars. This ambitious goal was set during discussions between Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar of Pakistan and his Turkish counterpart, Fidan Hakan, on the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both nations expressed a strong commitment to tapping into the full potential of their bilateral trade and enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including defense, strategic initiatives, and civil aviation. Foreign Minister Dar highlighted Pakistan’s willingness to share its expertise in nuclear energy and applications, reflecting a broader scope of collaboration between the two countries.

The meeting also touched on mutual support for pressing regional issues, with Dar appreciating Turkey’s steadfast stance on the Kashmir dispute and its support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, both ministers reiterated their unwavering support for the people of Palestine amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

A significant moment of the meeting was when Dar extended an invitation to Minister Hakan to visit Pakistan, which was accepted with enthusiasm. The Turkish Foreign Minister conveyed congratulations from the President of Turkey to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the successful elections in Pakistan, emphasizing the untapped potential arising from the strategic and geographic proximities of the two nations. He advocated for synchronized actions and policies to foster cooperation at both global and regional levels.

The dialogue concluded with both ministers expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Turkey bilateral relations, setting a foundation for future collaboration aimed at achieving mutual prosperity and strengthening regional ties.
