Pakistan Day Greetings Appear in IIOJK Amid Calls for Freedom

Srinagar, Posters bearing messages of solidarity and greetings for Pakistan Day, to be celebrated on March 23, have once again surfaced across various parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, especially in Srinagar. These posters have been displayed by several pro-freedom groups including the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, and others, heralding a message of unity and determination in the face of ongoing occupation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the posters prominently feature the slogan “Hum Pakistani Hain, Pakistan Hamara Hai,” a famous declaration by the martyred Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani. Besides streets and alleyways, social media platforms have also become a canvas for these expressions of allegiance, showcasing the Pakistan flag and images of Pakistani national heroes like Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Liaqat Ali Khan, and Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir.

The messages conveyed through these posters are clear and poignant: a call for the end of Indian occupation and a declaration of Kashmir’s integral connection to Pakistan, with phrases such as “Go India Go Back” and “Jammu and Kashmir is part of Pakistan.” They reflect a collective aspiration for freedom and the right to self-determination, emphasizing that Kashmiris will not relent in their quest for justice despite the heavy militarization of their homeland.

These posters, by echoing the sentiments of Kashmir’s resistance against Indian rule, serve not only as a reminder of the region’s unresolved status but also as a beacon of hope for those advocating for peace and self-determination in one of the world’s most heavily disputed territories.
