Islamabad, In a significant tribute to the nation’s educators, the National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education (NIETE) and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training hosted the ‘Ustaad se Ustaad-e-Mohtaram ka safar’ Teacher Award Ceremony at the Federal Government College for Girls F-7/2. The event, aimed at recognizing and elevating the status of exceptional teachers to that of national heroes, was marked by the presence of key educational leaders, including Federal Minister for Education, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Siddiqui delivered a poignant speech emphasizing the critical role of teachers in national development and addressed the pressing educational challenges facing Pakistan, such as the high number of children out of school and the low literacy rates. He stressed the urgent need for educational reforms and expressed hope that Islamabad could set a precedent for the nation with the support of its teachers.
The ceremony also featured an announcement by Federal Secretary for Education, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, who highlighted the federal government’s commitment to enhancing educational standards across the country. He announced a 50% honorarium on basic salary for all awarded teachers, underlining the government’s recognition of their vital contributions.
NIETE, operated by Taleemabad, Pakistan’s largest education technology company, played a crucial role in the event. It is responsible for training and certifying teachers, equipping them with modern educational tools to improve student learning across the country.
