Islamabad, During a balloting ceremony for the I-12/1 housing project, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, the Federal Minister for Housing and Works, emphasized the urgent need for the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF) to hand over possession of apartments to allottees as soon as possible. The event marked the re-balloting of 75 apartments that had previously been canceled and was attended by notable government officials and PHAF staff.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Pirzada witnessed the proceedings where Shahid Hussain, Managing Director of PHAF, reported the successful application of around a hundred potential owners for the recently vacated apartments, with 75 of them being successfully allotted during this event. The I-12/1 project, initiated in 2016, consists of 3,200 D and E type apartments and is nearing completion with 90% of the construction work already finished.
The Minister also stressed the importance of completing all ongoing housing projects timely to provide modern residential facilities to federal government employees and the general public. He praised the efforts of the Managing Director for his role in ensuring the project’s timely progression. It was also noted during the ceremony that an equal quota system for allotment of the apartments has been maintained for both the general public and government employees in the latest membership drive.
Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash, Secretary of Housing and Works, along with other senior officials from the ministry and PHAF, were also present at the ceremony. They collectively acknowledged the progress of the project and the impending distribution of apartments to their new owners.
