Pakistan Marks May 9 as a ‘Dark Day’ in History, President and PM Condemn Violence

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif declared May 9 as a ‘dark day’ for Pakistan, following the violent events that occurred across the nation, targeting public and military installations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both leaders have expressed their condemnation of the violence, which they described as politically motivated acts that not only damaged property but also tarnished Pakistan’s international reputation.

President Zardari labeled these attacks as challenges to the state’s authority and highlighted the incidents as beneficial only to the adversaries of Pakistan. He also praised the resilience and dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces and other institutions, insisting that those responsible for the violence be legally prosecuted to uphold justice and order.
