Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khursheed Alam, announced significant steps to mobilize resources with bilateral and multilateral donors aimed at tackling climate change-induced challenges.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) delegation held in Islamabad today, Alam outlined several key initiatives. She highlighted the setup of a new dashboard to track progress on climate-related projects and the launch of the Montreal Protocol Project. This national project, in collaboration with the UNDP, aims to address issues related to ozone-depleting substances and hydrochlorofluorocarbons.
Additionally, the meeting touched upon the GLOF-II project, which targets reducing glacial lake outburst flood risks in 10 districts of Gilgit-Baltistan and 8 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, focusing on areas vulnerable to climate impacts.
