Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Regional Trade at ECO Meeting

Islamabad: During a significant meeting today in Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the outgoing Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, to discuss the future of regional cooperation and trade among ECO member states.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Noziri briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the initiatives and reforms undertaken during his tenure aimed at revitalizing the organization. Senator Dar expressed appreciation for Noziri’s efforts and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing intra-regional trade and supporting the ongoing reform agenda within ECO.

The meeting also touched on the upcoming transition of leadership within the organization, with former Pakistani Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan set to succeed Ambassador Noziri next month. Senator Dar voiced optimism that Dr. Khan would continue the progress initiated by his predecessor, further advancing the goals of economic integration and cooperation among ECO countries.
