Pakistani Minister Commends UN Role in Enhancing Election Transparency

Islamabad, The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, praised the United Nations Review Mission’s role in bolstering transparency and integrity within Pakistan’s electoral processes. Speaking with the UN delegation, Tarar discussed the impact of digital technology on elections, addressing challenges like misinformation and the digital needs of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting covered the significant support provided by the UNDP Election Support Program to Pakistan. The discussions also touched on the broader implications of social media and digital campaigning in contemporary political environments. The UN Mission acknowledged the efforts made by the Pakistani government to improve electoral credibility and transparency.
