Pakistan’s IT Exports Surge to $286 Million in First Month of Fiscal Year

Islamabad: Pakistan’s information technology (IT) exports have impressively reached $286 million in the first month of the current fiscal year, accounting for nearly half of the country’s total exports during this period.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the notable increase in IT exports, which now represent 46% of the total exports, is attributed to several key economic adjustments. These include the recent expansion of the special foreign currency account limit for exporters from 35% to 50% and the stabilization of the Pakistani rupee.

The strong performance in the first month sets a promising pace for the IT sector, with projections suggesting that exports could surpass $3.5 billion over the course of the fiscal year.
