PIA’s chartered flight PK 8001 finally takes off from remote African city of Bujumbura in Burundi

Karachi, August 14, 2018 (PPI-OT): PIA’s chartered flight PK 8001 finally took off from the remote African city of Bujumbura in Burundi. The Boeing 777 aircraft was stranded for last four days due lack of ground support equipment over there. The ground support equipment is necessary for take-off operation. However, due personal efforts and close monitoring of the situation by President and CEO PIA Musharraf Rasool Cyan himself the arrangements were completed which made the return flight possible.

Musharraf Rasool while congratulating has appreciated the efforts of all concerned including flight operations, engineering, flight services and especially the cockpit crew. The scheduled arrival of PK 8001 carrying more than 350 passengers at Islamabad Airport is 10 AM on 14 August. (Mashhood Tajwar, PIA Spokesperson)
