Islamabad, June 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that he had a wonderful meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in which the present state of bilateral relations between the two countries was reviewed. In a tweet today, he said we have agreed to upgrade the ties commensurate with our excellent relationship. He said according to our shared resolve, trade, investment and enhanced cooperation in energy, defence, tourism, and higher education sectors will form the bedrock of cooperation.
The Prime Minister said that his delegation and he was deeply impressed by the love that the people of Azerbaijan have for Pakistan and her people. He said the sight of Pakistani flags fluttering in Baku was a feast for the eyes. This people-to-people bond based on mutual love and respect is the strength of our relationship.
The Prime Minister thanked the President for Azerbaijan’s consistent support to Pakistan on IIOJK and assured him of steadfast support on Karabakh. He said the shared resolve at the leadership level has the potential to reshape our bilateral ties in line with demands of the contemporary era and together we will make it happen.
