President Biden Conveys Support to Pakistan in Letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz, Islamabad

Islamabad, In a gesture of diplomatic goodwill, U.S. President Joe Biden has extended his best wishes to Pakistan’s newly elected government in a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This correspondence marks the first direct communication between the two leaders since Prime Minister Shehbaz assumed office, underlining the importance of U.S.-Pakistan relations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Biden’s letter emphasized the critical role of the partnership between the United States and Pakistan in ensuring global and regional security. He reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to standing with Pakistan in addressing significant global and regional challenges.

The letter highlighted shared goals in public health, economic development, and education, pledging continued cooperation in these areas. President Biden also mentioned the US-Pakistan Green Alliance Framework as a key initiative for environmental cooperation. Furthermore, he reiterated U.S. support for Pakistan’s efforts in sustainable agriculture, water management, and recovery from the catastrophic floods of 2022, emphasizing a joint commitment to human rights and development.

President Biden concluded with a commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, expressing optimism for an even closer bond between the peoples of the United States and Pakistan.
