President of Pakistan Stresses Importance of Food Safety on World Food Safety Day

Islamabad, On the occasion of World Food Safety Day, observed today, the President of Pakistan emphasized the critical need for robust food safety measures to address the rising concerns of foodborne diseases and global pandemics. This year’s theme, “Food Safety: Prepare for the Unexpected,” highlights the essential role of proactive safety measures in ensuring the health and well-being of the population.

According to Press Information Department, the President called for enhanced food safety regulations and standards across all stages of food production, processing, and distribution. He advocated for the adoption of best agricultural practices, the strengthening of food surveillance systems, and the improvement of laboratory capacities to effectively manage food safety risks. Recognizing food safety as a shared responsibility, the President urged all stakeholders to commit to high safety standards and to invest in research and innovation to overcome challenges in food safety. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that all citizens have access to safe, clean, and nutritious food.
