Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the importance of financial autonomy for women, advocating for improved access to financial services and credit to bolster women entrepreneurs in Pakistan.

According to Press Information Department, during a meeting with Bill Winters, Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank, President Zardari discussed ways to enhance female participation in the banking sector and support entrepreneurial ventures led by women. He argued that such initiatives would not only empower women but also have a broader positive impact on families and the national economy.

The meeting also touched upon environmental and agricultural investments, with President Zardari highlighting successful initiatives such as the trading of carbon credits from mangrove forests in Sindh. He urged the banking sector to support infrastructural and agricultural projects that could facilitate broader economic and environmental benefits.
