Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Rubina Khalid as the new Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). This appointment follows the acceptance of Dr Amjad Saqib’s resignation from the same position.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the presidential decision marks a significant leadership transition within the BISP, a key social welfare initiative aimed at poverty reduction and empowerment of the underprivileged in Pakistan. Dr. Amjad Saqib’s resignation was accepted prior to the announcement of his successor, Rubina Khalid, who will now lead the program forward.
