President Zardari to Deliver Record Seventh Address to Parliament Tomorrow

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari is set to address a joint session of Parliament on Thursday at 4 p.m., marking his record seventh speech to the National Assembly and Senate. This session initiates the parliamentary year following general elections, as mandated by the Constitution.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the joint sitting has been summoned under Article 56 (3) of the Constitution. This provision stipulates that the President must address Parliament at the start of each parliamentary year after general elections. President Zardari, who served as President from 2008 to 2013, has previously addressed the parliament six times.
