Prime Minister Sharif Calls for Enhanced Security Measures for Chinese Nationals in Pakistan


Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mandated heightened security protocols for Chinese citizens residing in Pakistan amid concerns over the law and order situation. Presiding over a high-level meeting in Islamabad, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of a foolproof security apparatus to protect foreign nationals, particularly those from China involved in various development projects across the country.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif has ordered law enforcement agencies to conduct a regular audit of security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and craft a detailed action plan to ensure their stringent implementation. This initiative reflects Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and safeguarding the lives and assets of both its citizens and international guests.



Further directives were issued to the Interior Ministry to bolster cooperation with provincial governments, aiming to enhance the efficacy of anti-terrorism departments. Sharif announced his intention to personally oversee these security measures, instituting monthly review meetings to assess progress and ensure the safety of the country, with a particular focus on the security of Chinese nationals.



The meeting included a comprehensive briefing by the Interior Ministry, outlining the current peace and security landscape of the nation and the ministry’s performance in maintaining order and combating threats.
