Prime Minister Sharif Launches Comprehensive ‘Ease of Doing Business’ Initiative in Pakistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially approved a substantial reform program aimed at improving the ease of doing business in Pakistan. This initiative, described as the largest of its kind in the nation’s history, includes the creation of Pakistan’s first digital registry of laws and regulations to streamline business and investment processes.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the approval came during a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister in Islamabad, focusing on enhancing the business climate. The program is set to receive international funding, with Prime Minister Sharif urging the interested organizations to finalize their agreements promptly.

The initiative will begin with reforms in critical sectors and aims to eliminate unnecessary regulations that impede investment. The digital registry will consolidate and digitize all existing laws related to business investment, reducing bureaucratic delays in registration, permits, and other administrative processes. This move is expected to significantly boost private sector growth and make Pakistan a more attractive destination for both domestic and international investors.
