Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and CIDCA Chairman Discuss Enhanced Bilateral Cooperation

Beijing, Today’s meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Ambassador Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), focused on reinforcing the socio-economic bonds between Pakistan and China, particularly through ongoing CPEC projects.

According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for CIDCA’s support in major development projects such as the Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital, the Desalination Plant in Gwadar, and the New Gwadar International Airport. The leaders reviewed the impactful outcomes of the Joint Working Group on Socioeconomic Development under CPEC, which has significantly improved the quality of life and economic opportunities in Pakistan.

They also discussed the continuous support provided by both nations during times of crises, including natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic. Ambassador Luo reaffirmed CIDCA’s commitment to deepening cooperation across various sectors, including infrastructure, climate response, and human resource development under initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative. This meeting underscored the deep, strategic partnership and mutual benefits derived from the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
