Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Discusses Chaman Border Issues with National Assembly Speaker

Islamabad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, met with Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at Parliament House on Thursday to discuss the current situation at the Chaman border and other pertinent issues including the formation of standing committees in the ongoing session of the National Assembly.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman informed Speaker Sadiq about the hardships faced by local residents due to the stringent measures at the Chaman border. He highlighted that these restrictions on business and visa processes have severely impacted the local population’s ability to earn a livelihood, leading to protests. Rehman emphasized the urgent need for government intervention to alleviate these difficulties and urged the Speaker to take action to address the concerns of the local people.

Speaker Sadiq assured Maulana Fazlur Rehman of his support in resolving the issues at the Chaman border and other crossing points along the Pak-Afghan border. He committed to discussing the matter with the government to find solutions to the problems faced by the local population.
