Islamabad, In a significant move to restructure government institutions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the swift dissolution of the Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD) and its replacement with a more efficient entity.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a high-level meeting held today in Islamabad, the Prime Minister reviewed recommendations from a special committee tasked with the PWD’s dissolution. He emphasized the need to protect employee interests throughout the process and ensure the completion of ongoing projects by relevant federal and provincial departments.
Sharif also announced that moving forward, the government will engage private companies of international repute for construction and repair work to improve efficiency and reduce the financial burden on the state.
