Prime Minister Urges Enhanced Cooperation Between Pakistan and Qatar

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has advocated for a deeper collaboration between Pakistan and Qatar, particularly in trade and investment sectors. During discussions with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of transforming the longstanding friendly ties into a strong economic partnership.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his appreciation for the historical and fraternal relations with Qatar, highlighting mutual support that has spanned various challenges. He underscored Pakistan’s interest in welcoming more Qatari investments, particularly through the facilitation provided by the Special Investment Facilitation Council, aimed at expediting cooperation in priority sectors.

The Prime Minister also conveyed greetings to Qatari leaders and received a message from Dr. Al-Khulaifi, which reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to enhancing the bilateral relationship. The discussions also touched on the significant role of the Qatar Investment Authority in Pakistan’s economic landscape, suggesting a promising future for joint ventures and cooperation.
