Lahore, In a surprise visit, Punjab’s Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq inspected various departments of Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital, expressing concerns over delays in ongoing renovation efforts and demanding immediate improvements, especially for thalassemia patients.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Minister Rafiq toured the emergency ward, outpatient services, and other areas of the hospital, interacting with patients and assessing the quality of medical services provided. During his visit, he specifically addressed the need for operationalizing the HVK system in the thalassemia ward to ensure that patients suffering from this condition receive adequate care without complications.
The minister also reprimanded the hospital’s administration for the slow progress of the hospital’s revamping project and stressed the importance of timely upgrades to healthcare facilities. He vowed to return for a follow-up visit to ensure that the necessary improvements have been implemented.
This visit is part of a broader initiative by the provincial government to review and enhance healthcare services across various government hospitals in Punjab.
