Provincial Minister Highlights Challenges of Global Population Growth on World Population Day

Quetta: On the occasion of World Population Day, Provincial Minister of Livestock and Dairy Development, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, emphasized the urgent need to address the challenges posed by global population growth, particularly in relation to Pakistan’s status as one of the most densely populated countries.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Minister Kakar used World Population Day to draw attention to the pressing issues stemming from the rising population, including shortages in food, housing, and healthcare. He cited a recent report forecasting a potential increase of 2 to 4 billion in the global population over the next 50 years if current growth rates persist.

In response, the provincial government is enhancing public health and reproductive health services, especially in urban and remote areas. Minister Kakar also called on Muslim scholars to raise public awareness about the population issues facing Pakistan.
