Quetta Officials Commit to Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure and Traffic Solutions

Quetta: Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Noshirwani and Provincial Planning and Development Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, co-chairing a Public Private Partnership Board meeting, outlined initiatives aimed at addressing traffic and infrastructure issues through public-private collaborations. The meeting highlighted significant projects, including the development of a modern building at the former Mutton Market site and efforts to improve traffic flow in the city.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the discussion at the meeting centered on leveraging public-private partnerships to enhance local infrastructure and solve persistent traffic problems in Quetta. The ministers emphasized the government’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to benefit the public, specifically through projects like the plaza on Circular Road and a new structure at the Mutton Market site to alleviate traffic congestion and generate employment.

The meeting, attended by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Imran Zirkun, Additional Chief Secretary Hafiz Abdul Basit, and other senior officials, also addressed the activation of various projects under the Chaman Master Plan, aiming to provide job opportunities to the local population. The provincial finance minister stressed the importance of following proper channels for project approvals, ensuring they align with the financial capacity of the public treasury.

These initiatives are part of a broader effort by the provincial government to implement effective solutions through public-private partnerships, reflecting a strategic approach to urban planning and development in Balochistan.
