Restoration of Old National Highway Scheduled for Completion by End of 2024

Islamabad, The National Assembly was briefed today that the long-awaited repair work on the old National Highway is set to commence this month, with a completion target set for December 2024.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a session that included a Calling Attention Notice initiated by Dr. Nafisa Shah and colleagues, Minister for Communication Abdul Aleem Khan confirmed that five hundred million rupees have been allocated for the highway’s restoration under the annual repair program. He committed to meeting the December deadline for the project’s completion.

The session also saw the swearing-in of the newly elected Member of the National Assembly, Faisal Amin Khan. Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah administered the oath, marking Mr. Khan’s official entry into the legislative body.

Following the day’s proceedings, the House adjourned and is scheduled to reconvene on Monday afternoon.
