Sindh Governor Proposes Rs 14 Per Unit Electricity Relief to Mirror Punjab’s Policy

Karachi: In an effort to align with Punjab’s electricity pricing, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesuri has advocated for a Rs 14 per unit reduction in electricity rates. The proposed reduction aims to alleviate financial pressures on consumers and demonstrate the Sindh government’s commitment to public welfare.

According to Sindh Governor House, the Governor has formally approached the Chief Minister of Sindh with a proposal that seeks to reduce electrical costs by implementing a subsidy for users consuming up to 500 units in the months of August and September. The letter emphasizes that without such measures, sentiments of deprivation among the populace may intensify, underscoring the urgency for a positive response from the provincial leadership to address these economic challenges.
