Sindh Minister Addresses Concerns Over Lightning Strikes, Seeks Federal Insight

Karachi: Provincial Energy Minister of Sindh, Syed Nasarasin Shah, has voiced his concern over the recent spate of deadly lightning strikes in Sindh, including in the Tharparkar region. The minister expressed condolences for the lives lost and announced measures to support the affected families, as well as initiatives to better understand and mitigate the risks associated with lightning.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Sindh, the Sindh Energy Department has reached out to the Federal Institute of Science and Technology and NAD University, seeking expertise to investigate the causes of these lightning incidents. The minister highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing this natural hazard and mentioned the launch of an awareness campaign aimed at educating the public on lightning protection and safety precautions.
