Soneri Bank Announces Interim Dividend and Book Closure Dates

Karachi: Soneri Bank Limited has declared an interim cash dividend of Rs. 1.25 per share, equivalent to 12.50%, for the fiscal year 2024. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the Bank’s Board of Directors made the decision during their meeting on August 23, 2024. The share transfer books of the Bank will be closed from September 4, 2024, to September 6, 2024, to determine the entitlement of the dividend.

Shareholders are encouraged to ensure that their International Bank Account Numbers (IBAN) are updated to facilitate the electronic transfer of dividends, as mandated by Section 242 of the Companies Act, 2017 and the Companies (Distribution of Dividends) Regulations, 2017. Transfers received at the office of the Bank’s Registrar and Share Transfer Agent, M/s. THK Associates (Pvt.) Limited, by the close of business on September 3, 2024, will be considered timely for the purposes of dividend entitlement.

Additionally, the Bank has reiterated the importance of shareholders providing their CNIC/NTN details if not previously submitted, to comply with tax regulations. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Central Depository Company of Pakistan (CDC) have also advised shareholders about the Centralized Cash Dividend Register (CCDR) on the CDC’s e-Services Web Portal, which offers details regarding cash dividends that are paid, unpaid, or withheld, along with tax and Zakat deductions.

Soneri Bank continues to emphasize the need for shareholders to deposit or convert their physical shares into book-entry form in accordance with Section 72 of the Companies Act, 2017, as specified by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

This notification, along with all pertinent details, will be published on August 29, 2024, ensuring all stakeholders are adequately informed.
